About Hillcrest RSS Feed

What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing Web content, such as news headlines. Using an RSS reader, you can view data feeds from various news sources, such as CNN, FoxNews, MSNBC, NPR, and many more, including headlines, summaries, links to full stories.

At Hillcrest we offer our News as an RSS Feed so you can always have the latest news and information from Hillcrest available to you on your desktop. Our RSS Feed is feed://www.hillcrest.net/rss. If you have an RSS Reader installed, clicking this link will open it, but if not you might receive an error or view the raw XML document.

How do I View RSS Feeds?

Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Windows currently has no native support for RSS, but good news is the next version of Windows will have full RSS support. Until then we suggest you use RSS Reader or Active Web Reader.

Apple Macintosh

If you're using a Mac with Mac OSX Tiger you're ready to go. The latest version of Safari natively has RSS support. Click here to visit Apple's website and learn how to use RSS with Safari.

For users with OSX Panther or below we suggest you use Vienna, which is a free RSS Reader for OSX.

Other Ways to View RSS Feeds

Firefox Web Browser

If you use the popular Firefox Web Browser you can install the Sage Plugin to add RSS Support. This works on Firefox for Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux.

Google

Google has a customizable homepage that allows you to not only add RSS Feeds to their site but also add content from many other sources. This also works on all web browsers and operating systems.
