Feeding Your Baby

Expectant and nursing mothers can turn to Hillcrest for their breast-feeding guidance. If you are planning to breast feed your baby, we encourage you to put the baby to the breast as soon after delivery as possible.  This is known as the baby's most alert time.  A Lactation Specialist is available seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. to assist mothers in breast-feeding techniques and overcoming obstacles.  Breast-feeding pumps and supplies are available for new moms to utilize throughout their stay at Hillcrest.  You will need to breast feed on demand or bottle feed every 3-4 hours.  Please ask your patient care nurse if you have any questions regarding feedings.
