Pathology Services

Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center's Department of Pathology is devoted to providing comprehensive, high quality, patient centered, cost effective laboratory services to the Central Texas community. Our laboratory is staffed by highly trained, skilled personnel with around-the-clock pathology coverage for consultations. Our laboratory is accredited by the American College of Pathologists and maintains a CLIA certificate of accreditation from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.  These agencies require enrollment and successful completion of yearly proficiency testing and inspection by the agencies.

Our testing menu includes both routine and specialized procedures for all areas of the laboratory, including Anatomical Pathology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Immunology, Immuno-chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Parasitology, and Urinalysis.  We are partnered with several leading reference laboratories to be able to provide the esoteric testing needs requested by our physicians.  Our blood bank is partnered with Carter BloodCare which enables us to have adequate inventory of blood products at all times.
