Oropharyngeal Dysphagia: "A Hard Pill To Swallow"
If you experience swallowing problems, it may be the first sign of possible complications to come. To help avoid such cases, Hillcrest offers a Dysphagia team made up of a Speech-Language Pathologist, Dietitian, Radiologist and nursing services to assess the potential risks for aspiration. Indicators of Dysphagia may be:
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson's Disease
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Myasthenia Gravis
- Cerebral Palsy
- Cancer of the Head and Neck ; or
- Alzheimer's Disease
