Cardiac Patient Care Clinics
Staffed by highly trained and experienced cardiologists, registered nurses, and technologists, the Hillcrest Cardiology Clinics are an integral part of the Heart & Vascular Center. The clinics have relocated to the second floor (Suite 200) of Medical Office Building 1 located at the Hillcrest I-35 campus. Hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  For more information, call (254) 202-9950.

Protime Clinic
Patients who have a history of heart disease or stroke, deep vein thrombosis or who have had a heart valve replacement often require ongoing treatment to minimize the likelihood of developing a blood clot. The Protime Clinic periodically administers a simple blood test to monitor the level  of any medications used to control anticoagulation. At each appointment, the patient receives lab results, medication dosing instructions as well as medication and disease management education.

Congestive Heart Failure Clinic
This nurse-led clinic is for patients who have congestive heart failure which is almost always a chronic, long-term disease. The clinic staff aims to prevent acute events and hospitalization related to congestive heart failure by educating patients and their family about the disease process, treatment plans, diet and the importance of compliance with a medication regimen.  A patient may also receive infusion therapy. The emphasis is on routine daily care that will allow the patient and family to monitor progress with an overall goal to improve the patient’s quality of life and maintain their independence.
