WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO BECOME A JUNIOR VOLUNTEER?

Having met the criteria as defined in the letter, completion and a quick return of the Junior Volunteer Application Form is the first obligation. The reference letter must also be received to initiate review of your application, and remember to urge your reference source to respond in a timely manner.

Weekly volunteer attendance is preferred. However, there is opportunity for the listing of prior personal commitments on the application. Please be reminded that many absences may hinder the selection process.

WHAT ARE THE FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS? UNIFORM?

As previously mentioned, the uniform is a hunter-green (Hillcrest green) scrub top and is available from the Volunteer Office at the cost of $15. Tan or khaki-colored skirt or slacks must be worn with this top. Tennis shoes or comfortable, closed-toe shoes are appropriate in a modest color. A white or tan shirt or T-shirt should be worn beneath the scrub top.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROGRAM LAST?

During the summers volunteering begins after the required introduction session and training which is in mid-June and continues through August until school resumes.

YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE SCHOOL YEAR AND HOLIDAYS AFTER YOUR FIRST SUMMER.
