Auxiliary
The purpose of the Hillcrest Auxiliary is to enhance the mission of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center: "To personally provide quality health care and services in a Christian environment" through volunteer commitment and support.
Founded in 1920 with five members, the Auxiliary organization welcomes current membership of 700 members. Service hours exceed 2,500 on a monthly basis. More than 200 members donate volunteer hours to the Medical Center. These volunteers are adults, college students and high school students, who volunteer primarily in the summer months. In total, more than 300 members donate service hours to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center annually.
Along with thousands of volunteer hours, Hillcrest Auxiliary contributions include:
- Rocking Chairs for Pediatrics and Ambulatory Care
- Closed Circuit TV Monitors
- Radioimmunoassay Laboratory Instrument
- Intracranial Pressure Monitoring Equipment
- Intensive Care Equipment for Newborns
- Christmas Stockings and Blankets for Newborns
- Support to Community Hospice Program
- Support to Hillcrest-sponsored Healthfairs, Screenings and Blood Drives
- Staffing Gift Shop
- Gift of $150,000 Towards Expansion of Rehab, Obstetrics, Nursery, and "KIDSVILLE"
- Donating Equipment to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Gift of $200,000 to Children’s Services Initiative
- Gift of $250,000 to Kidsville, Hillcrest’s Children’s Hospital
- Currently: Pledging 40,000 for Dynamap Blood pressure Machines for Medical/Surgical Units
