Visiting the Women’s & Children’s Center
Welcome to the Women’s & Children’s Center at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. We are proud to offer exceptional maternity care and hope that you enjoy your time at Hillcrest during this exciting time. The following nformation will help you to plan your visit. Congratulations!
Visitation hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
General Visitor Guidelines
- Do not visit if you have fever, diarrhea or a respiratory infection.
- Visiting children must be age 14 or over unless they are a member of the immediate family. All children should be accompanied by an adult who can leave the patient's room with the child if needed.
- Visitors may not bring food or drink into a patient's room.
- Wash your hands and forearms with soap before handling the baby.
Labor & Delivery (L&D) Unit
Please limit visitors to no more than two at a time. The father or significant other does not count as a visitor.
Siblings should be at least 5 years old and supervised by an adult who can leave with them if needed.
Both the L&D and Mother-Baby Units are locked at all times for both the mother and newborn's safety.
We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines to enter and exit the unit.
When you arrive at the door, you must push the button on the intercom to alert the nurse's station.
Identify which patient you are there to visit. If it is within acceptable visiting hours and the patient is seeing visitors you will be permitted to enter the unit.
You will not be able to leave the unit until a nursing staff member "buzzes" you out.
If no one answers the intercom, go to the admitting desk for assistance.
If you have any questions about visiting hours or guidelines, please call 202-9240.
