Critically injured trauma victims must reach medical care within a short period of time, often called the "golden hour," to help prevent death or disability.

With the designation of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, travelers now are never farther than 45 minutes from a designated trauma center, ensuring that medical care can be reached during the "golden hour".
