As a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, Richard E. Scott, Jr.., D.O., is the medical director of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Center, attending to the needs of patients of all ages who experience physical or cognitive impairment. 

Dr. Scott leads the Inpatient Rehab team at Hillcrest, providing services that include the diagnosis, evaluation and management of care of those with disabling conditions. Whether the injury is sports related or occupational, or as a result of disease processes, Hillcrest Inpatient Rehabilitation attends to orthopedic and neuro-rehabilitation in a comprehensive approach to maximize function of the individual. 

Dr. Scott completed his residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he served as chief resident. He and his family returned to Waco from Lubbock where he was assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedics at Texas Tech University Health Science Center and served as medical director of the rehabilitation unit at the main teaching hospital.
